Dress and Grooming

This chapter explains the dress code and proper grooming for slaves.

Dress

Some Masters follow a relatively loose dress code, and some are very, very strict. I fall somewhere in the middle. The dress I lay out below is what I consider to be the "ideal" dress for a slave, and it is followed by a great many Masters.

In my personal case, I pick out all my slave's clothes for him, and I dress him how I think he looks good. That works for me because dave's dress is really only for when he is out in public. When he's at home, dave just wears his tighty whiteys. I don't think boys need pants in the house.

So with that caveat, here is the standard "boy uniform". I don't follow it rigidly and neither will most other Masters. Individual Masters will tone it down or alter it to suit their preferences.

Collar
This is the item you wear first and foremost, and it is worn at all times except when wearing it conflicts with your employment, family interactions, or would otherwise impact you negatively, e.g., when in airports.
Black leather boots
preferably military boots (often called "combat boots"). Your boots should not rise above the calf.
White athletic socks
your socks should be rolled down over the top of your boots.
Black leather belt
of plain black leather, with a minimum of chrome and other ornamentation.
Blue jeans
preferably Levi's 501s. In hot weather they may be "cutoffs". All buttons shall be buttoned.
White T-shirt
a plain crew-necked T-shirt without any logo, writing, or other ornamentation. You are not permitted to wear black clothes under any circumstances.
Keys
flagging on the right at all times.

Slaves do have some latitude in what they wear, although not very much. The following additions and alterations to the standard uniform are acceptable under certain conditions:

A Jockstrap
is optional. No other form of underwear is permitted. The jock may be of cloth or leather.
A Watch
is optional, but highly recommended. Your Master may very well want you to help keep him on schedule. I know I count on dave for that.
Headwear
During the winter cold, you may wear a stocking cap or similar for warmth. Any other head covering is at the Master's discretion.
Long-sleeved T-shirts
You may wear long-sleeved T-shirts and/or a thermal undershirt when the weather so requires. Nobody wants you to freeze.
 Athletic shoes
permitted during PT (physical training), athletics, or otherwise as required to perform your duties. In any event, athletic shoes are never to be white in color.
Long-sleeved dress shirt
At events calling for formal dress, you shall wear a long-sleeved white pinpoint dress shirt. It shall not have a button-down collar or pocket. It shall be freshly starched and pressed and the sleeves shall not be rolled up.

You are not permitted to wear any additional leather except by permission. Usually you will be given one piece of leather after each year in my service, although exceptions may be made for slaves who come to me with extensive former experience (See Earning Leathers). The guideline is that no slave shall wear leathers he has not earned, although he does not necessarily have to have earned them from me.

All clothing should be freshly laundered and free of stains, spots and tears.

No rings, necklaces or bracelets.

Grooming

Slaves should not wear cologne or other fragrances other than aftershave.

Hair should be worn in a military cut. Either a high and tight, horseshoe or regulation cut is fine. Sometimes I like to choose for you, if there's a look that I like on you. I like boys hairy or smooth, but not shaved. It's too prickly!

No piercings or tattoos without my permission.
