Why Write This Manual?
Why I wrote this manual and what I hope to achieve with it
Living as a slave or a Master is an enormous commitment, and not one to be taken lightly. Unfortunately, there is little information available to those who are learning. In fact there is not just a lack of accurate information, but a wide array of false, inaccurate and misleading information from which to choose. Sad to say, but much of this misinformation is being promulgated by those who name themselves Master, but who in fact have no appreciation of what that really means. Unfortunately too many "Masters" out there are more interested in stroking their own egos than anything else.
I have been around in the Leather community for a long time now, and I've known many Masters and many poseurs as well. Many pompous boors and many insecurities overcompensated for. Yeah, I've been around. I've made mistakes. In fact, as mistakes go, I've made some whoppers. But I'd like to think I've learned a lot from the mistakes I've made.
So, without putting myself forward as an "expert" on the subject of slavery, I would like to share some of the things I've learned. That is the reason for this manual. I hope you find it helpful.
